So Little Time

The year is 1976.

The long-awaited summertime break has finally arrived. Schoolmates bid their friends a good summer. Professors let out sighs of relief that they get their well-deserved three-month break. All the stress and tension from the term was finally over; no studying would need to be done until the next term. The students’ and professors’ minds could now be at rest.

But what about the marauders? You haven’t said anything about them yet…

They’ve been hard at work creating their greatest creation: The Marauder’s Map. Five years of rule-breaking and troublemaking had gotten them a lot of merits—mostly negative ones—but they weren’t about to put them away in a drawer and hide them. The Gryffindor quartet was going to showcase what they had learned about the school during their first five years. And so, they set out to work on the Marauder’s Map, a seemingly extensive project. The school year had been used for discussions and planning. The summertime would be used for the actual creation.

The map’s creation was going to be a bit of a struggle, what with the distance between the friends’ houses and Remus’ monthly transformations. They would, however, figure it out somehow. They always did. And what with the power of illegal animagi at their exposal, the task would probably be easier than it would have been before.

And what of You-Know-Who? Where is he? What’s he doing?

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named—no one knows where he is or what he’s doing. All we know is that he’s getting stronger. His followers, the Death Eaters, are starting to become greater in numbers; we all know he’s waiting for the perfect time to attack. When he does, we’ll all have hell to pay.

Watch your back. Be wary of your friends. Keep them close. Keep your enemies closer.

The Ministry?

It’s corrupt; that’s all I’ve got to say. Ever since that Minister took the position, things have gone downhill. He’s not doing anything to figure out where the Dark Lord is. He’s not doing anything to train the aurors. If you ask me, I think he’s in cahoots with the Dark Lord. Of course, I’m in no position to say…

Ohhh…

With all this commotion going on, I can’t tell what’s what anymore. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. It’ll all unfold sooner or later. After all, there’s So Little Time to discover...
