Bring morning sunshine making her hair seem to glow, Lily Evans made her way slowly toward one of Hogwart's courtyard's fountains. She had always adored that spot. It was so peaceful, not to mention that back in her 5th year, Lily had actually had her first real kiss there. It had been with this guy in her year but in Ravenclaw. They had gone out for 2 monthes. That was until James Potter had asked her out yet again, making the guy think that she was going out with James behind her back.

Truth be told she sort of liked James. Though she wasn't about to admit it. She had always seen him as arrogant and immature, but ever since she hadn't been friends with Severus, she had seen him in a different light. It probably had been all the comments that Sev had said that had made her belive those things about James. At that moment, she actually wouldn't mind THAT much if he asked her out. She might even consider saying yes!

A sudden sound behind her snapped her out of her reverie. She blinked a few times before remembering where she was. She turned her head with a worry look on her face, worried of what might have happened to the person who had hit the fountain.

Her look of worry turned to a frown as she saw who it was. She could never forget that face or hair. Her used to be best friend, Severus Snape was there, staring at her. She quickly turned her eyes away from him, unsure of what to say. They hadn't spoken for monthes now. She kind of missed their converstions. She used to be able to tell Sev anything she felt like saying. Anything at all.

One thing she still couldn't understand about Sev was that he had always been so jealous about James. Though she had never even given him a moment to speak to her properly, Severus had always been so...quick to jump to conclusions.

She took a deep breath and turned slowly to him. "Sev?" she asked carefully. She didn't want a fight to break out, she only wanted to have a small conversation. Just to catch up really.

Lily sighed again when he answered. A good sigh for once. At least he wasn't getting that mad at her. Yet. She softly bit her lip before answering. "So...how are you?" she asked softly.

Lily smiled a little at the mention of her old nick-name. Only he used to use it with her. To everyone else she was 'lillers or lily-kins'. Not exactly her favorite nick-names. She gave a shrug. "Nothing to report much. Just the same old things happening." she said. Nothing had happened. That was except for her new-found feelings for a certain guy she had hated for years.

Though he barely even whispered it, Lily heard what he had said. She kind of missed him too. Not too much, but a little nevertheless. Her eyes started stinging, and she looked away. She had no idea what to say now. She didn't miss him to the point of actually saying sorry, but she didn't hate him enough to ignore him for the rest of her life.

Lily started to feel the tension between them. No words came out of either's mouth. "So I heard your with Amethyst now." she said out of nowhere. It wasn't a lie. She had heard from some people that the two were together. Of course, it didn't mean anything, but she had to be sure. To be honest, she might actually be completely wrong, and might just be imagining all of this.

Lily face clouded over quickly. So now she wasn't even allowed to ask something? "I was asking to know if the 'rumors' are true." she said simply in an annoyed tone. This was heading nowhere. She knew that anytime soon he'd ask about James and her. Not that there was anything happening between them, though Severus seemed to think there was.

Lily couldn'T help but gasp slightly when he called her a mudblood. "Coming from someone who said blood status didn't matter!" she cried after him.

What had happened between them? Somehow she didn't think it had anything to do with his friends like she had thought last year. It seemed to be the fact that he had said years ago, that blood status didn't matter, and then suddenly called her a mudblood. He really did have a change of heart. A big one too.

Tears were starting to pour down Lily's cheeks. "Just so you know I'm not with James. But if you insist maybe I'll go see him and tell him I'll go out with him after all!" she said braver than she felt. How could he think she was actually going out with James? After all the insults she had said about him to Sev, how could he actually believe she'd go out with him? He had become such an idiot over the summer to think such a thing!

Lily shok her head slightly, staring at him. Since when had he called her Evans? And since when had he been mean to her to such an extreme that she almost wanted to kill him?

"You know what Snape? I think I'll head right up to the castle and go see him. I've been in your disgusting prescense for too long. See you never." she said. At least she didn't have anything to lug around with her.

She rushed right by him, not caring about it anymore. She couldn't care less about what he had to say now. He was nothing more than another bug to squash. Another Slytherin there to tell off. Another person to add to her avoid list.
