The Slytherin common area, the one place Severus was safe. He sometimes hid down here to get away from Potter and his gits. He couldn't stand them, and they would never leave him alone, mainly Potter. It was like he made it is moral obligation to make fun of him.
Severus sighed and walked to the fireplace, he didn't want to hurt any of them. Well he did, but he wouldn't because of Lily. Severus did have a crush on her and she normally told the gits to leave Severus alone when she was around them. He really did admire that about her.
Severus sat down in front of the roaring fireplace and sighed some, it always was him. Why not anyone else?

Narcissa smirked as she brushed past a Hufflepuff on her way down the stairs leading to the dungeon. She knew the Hufflepuff common room was somewhere in the lower levels of the school as well but she had no clue where the house could be found. Of course it wasn't like the blonde Slytherin even bothered to look for it either. She really didn't care where the badgers hid themselves since in honesty there really wasn't anything of interest about them in the Slytherins eyes.
After muttering the password Narcissa stepped into the Slytherin common room and would have headed towards the girls dorms if it wasn't for the fact that she spotted another Slytherin sitting alone in front of the fireplace. Narcissa had to admit that she wasn't a very big fan of Severus' since it was common knowledge in the house that he was friends with a mudblood but at the same time she was a little interested in him because she was curios why he would drag his name down into the mud like that for somebody who probably didn't even appreciate it.
Deciding to stay and talk Narcissa walked over towards where he sat then claimed a seat on a nearby armchair. "Hello Severus."

Severus looked up and smiled some. "Hello Narcissa." He turned back to the fire place. "You shouldn't sit with me, I don't want others to mess with you about it." He said softly.
Severus knew he wasn't very popular with the other Slytherins, but he really wasn't popular anywhere else so it really didn't matter to him. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed some, it did bother him a little that people wouldn't give him a chance to be friends.

"Only a fool messes with a Black." Narcissa replied with a shrug of her shoulder. He may have been a blood traitor but Sirius had proved over and over by the way he and his friends handled Severus that you shouldn't mess with a Black. She may not have approved of what Sirius did or the way he turned his back on the family but he did at least give the Black family name some pride in the fact that he was good as far as what he did to. Maybe there was a bit of a jab at Severus in that comment but she meant it. Nobody who wanted to stay healthy messed with a Black.
"Besides. Did you ever think it could help your reputation to be seen with me instead of hurting mine to be seen with yours?" Narcissa asked. She may not have meant to come across as stuck up but she was telling the truth. She and Bellatrix had done a lot to bring up their names in the eyes of other Slytherins. Being her friend could only help Severus.

Severus sneered some as he listened to her. "I don't care enough to be your friend. You and your family are stuck up. I don't need you to take pity on me because I am an outcast. Personally I feel sorry for you for your brother. I mean he is a git who is a traitor. So please don't give me the Black is better speech. I don't care, I really don't." He didn't even look up while saying this. She really did annoy him, her and her family did. They were worst than the other prats in the school.

"You may want to learn who's related to who and how before you go on your rants Severus. I have no brothers and if you are referring to Sirius there is a reason he was blasted off of our family tree. He was my cousin but he was disowned. As far as being a git is concerned I'd have to agree with you on that but him and his friends have made a fool of you on more then one occasion so he's proved that Black's are at least better then Snapes." Narcissa said as she stood up and looked over at Severus who had yet to look at her. She really should have known better then to even try and be nice to him. Her mother had warned her about trying to befriend people of inferior birth and breeding and Severus was proving to be both at that moment. A gentlemen never spoke to a lady like that but apparently spending time with the mudblood had made him just as crude as they were.
"And just for the record Severus. I was trying to be your friend but it's obviously a friendship that you do not want. Just a friend warning Snape. If I were you I'd be careful about how I address other Slytherins. They won't all be as understanding as I am and you may find yourself on the end of some nasty hexes." Narcissa said before she turned away from Severus and walked out of the common room intent on heading to her dorm so she could get ready then head out to the common room for some food.
